Excerpt From Today's Session:
General Alden Whitmore stood silently in front of Admiral Erin Delany, as she sat at her desk and read the distress message from the Starlight Elite. He couldn't read the woman's face, as she took in the words over and over. She had been raking over the missive for the last ten minutes, and Whitmore was starting to get agitated. The more time they spent in idleness gave them less time to actually send out a rescue op.
"General," the Admiral finally said. "I'm afraid we need more intel before we can move on Velatia. Until we know the motives behind the Teron attack, we can't risk sending in a rescue team."
Whitmore knew it was coming. That didn't mean he wasn't surprised to actually hear those words. The expression on his face said as much. "Ma'am, those kids are in trouble. If we don't send a rescue team in, then I'm afraid we'll never get the intel you need. Only the Starlight Elite can provide us with that intelligence report, and if they're captured or, worse, killed, then we've lost our only link to Thian and what it means to the Terons."
